The “Dream Center “ is represented by an object( cube) suspended in air, made from several layers of transparent sheets. The multiple layers allows the projection to take on a holographic effect.
The first part of the installation consists of a 6 minutes movie. The public is invited to experience the state of meditation, sleep, dream and awaking. They can experience this sitting down ( chairs or fatboy) or moving all around. Relation between time, space and reality is diluted.
The second part is the interactive moment that can last up to 10-15 minutes. The public is invited one by one to play with the “dream center”, to be aware. A person must stand in the indicated place, facing the cube. With the right hand he will start to make slow movements, without touching the cube .The movement will be translated on the surface throw colours .
“Meditation – practice in which an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content”.
‘Dream-successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur usually involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep”.
“Sleep – a naturally recurring state of mind characterized by altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles, and reduced interactions with surroundings”.
“Awareness- level of consciousness, where sense data can be confirmed by an observer without necessarily implying understanding.”
